JOB DESCRIPTION
NISU Eats – PA Lead
North Island Students’ Union, British Columbia Federation of Students

The Port Alberni Lead shall be responsible for working with the members of the

Board, other staff, and the Executive Director to execute the food services of the

Students’ Union at 3699 Roger St, Port Alberni.

Hours of work per week: 40

Rate of Compensation: $25 per hour, benefits for self & family after probation, pension plan, wellness fund, personal development fund, wellness hours. All

NISU staff are organised with Local 2020 Construction, Maintenance and Allied

Workers Canada and are supported by the Collective Agreement.

Experience:

The Port Alberni Lead shall be knowledgeable of and have experience in:

• Food Service delivery, preparation, service, inventory
• Event planning & coordination

Responsibilities: 


The Port Alberni Lead shall: 


• Lead the kitchen operations at the Roger St campus of North Island

College.

• Open the kitchen, prepare and serve food, close the kitchen, four days a week, 10 hour days.
• Aid in the organising of social & political events of the Union. 

• Assist in food safety. 

• Assist in sanitation.
• Assist with inventory.
• Organisational communication using Discord.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of two years’ previous work experience in the food service industry and/or; 

• A diploma/degree in a relevant discipline
• Ability to work both independently and under supervision 

• Commitment to a high standard of member service
• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Drivers License and vehicle

• Assist membership awareness events, including but not limited to: public lectures, workshops, events and information fairs, as they relate to NISU (training provided)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $25.00 per hour
