Job description

Kitting Assembly Associate

Our client, Simpson Print, has an opportunity for a Kitting Assembly Associate. This role is responsible for preparing and organizing printed materials and products into kits or packages according to specific job requirements. This role involves constructing large fabricated trade show booths, assembling printed materials, and ensuring accuracy and quality throughout the kitting process. This role supports the production of marketing materials, product packaging, promotional items, or other printed materials for distribution or use.


Responsibilities:


  • Material Preparation: Gather and organize printed materials, including brochures, flyers, labels, stickers, or other items, for kitting or packaging. Ensure that materials are properly sorted, counted, and inspected for quality.
  • Kitting Assembly: Assemble printed materials into kits or packages according to predetermined instructions, layouts, or customer requirements. Follow established procedures for arranging and organizing materials within kits to meet specific design or branding guidelines.
  • Quality Control: Perform quality checks on printed materials and finished kits to verify accuracy, consistency, and adherence to quality standards. Identify and address any defects, errors, or inconsistencies in printed materials or Kitting Assembly.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records of printed materials and kitting supplies. Monitor stock levels, reorder supplies as needed, and coordinate with procurement or supply chain teams to ensure availability of materials for production.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating printing equipment and handling printed materials. Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials, disposing of waste, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Documentation: Record kitting data, job specifications, and quality inspection results accurately and legibly. Complete paperwork or electronic forms related to production orders, inventory transactions, and equipment maintenance activities.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members, including designers, printers, kitting specialists, and supervisors, to coordinate workflow, resolve issues, and ensure timely completion of production tasks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, or efficiency enhancements in printing and kitting operations. Implement suggestions or recommendations to streamline workflows, reduce waste, or optimize resource utilization.

Requirements:


  • Experience in assembling components, using hand tools and Kitting Assembly would be an asset.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in printing technology, graphic design, or related fields would be an asset.
  • Familiarity with printing techniques, equipment, and materials, including digital printing, offset printing, and screen printing.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality with the ability to maintain accuracy and consistency in Kitting Assembly.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using printing software, tools, and equipment, including excel and google documents.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong time management skills and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, production schedules, and job requirements.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Occasional travel to client sites to assist with installation
  • Some overtime may be required to complete installs and assembly of finished product
  • Must have own transportation since we’re not on a bus route
