Laboratory Analyst

NAVANA Labs Chetwynd has an immediate need for a full-time Laboratory Analyst to fill duties related to water analysis and will work under the supervision of the Laboratory Operations Manager.

The successful candidate will have experience with data collection and interpretation, have formerly worked in the field or a laboratory setting, and be responsible for testing water samples.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Receive, unpack, inspect, and label customer samples
• Log samples into the laboratory database
• Recognize and report any sample issues
• Confirm test methods and follow company SOPs and protocols
• Test water samples using complex instrumentation
• Follow details operating procedure for analysis
• Analyze retrieved data and record analyses into laboratory database for review
• Perform quality control tests in the laboratory as necessary
• Calibrate lab equipment in preparation for specific tasks
• Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and perform maintenance and repairs on instrumentation as required.
• Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure sample integrity and quality control
• Keep the laboratory and all equipment clean
• Work in a safe manner and comply with all environmental, health, and safety requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree considered an asset
• Previous work expereince in a laboratory setting (academic or industry)
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract
• Ability to use complex instrumentation and equipment
• Knowledge of computers and databases required
• Capable of prioritizing tasks to meet goals and ensure product quality
• High School Diploma
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Physical strength to lift 50 lbs.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
