Job description

We are a leading manufacturer and worldwide distributor of in vitro diagnostic products used in Hospital Transfusion Services and Donor Centers. Currently, we are seeking a qualified and motivated candidate in our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia manufacturing facility. We have an immediate entry level opening for a Production/Laboratory Assistant.

  • As the Production Assistant you will be responsible for filling, labelling and packaging of final manufactured product. You will be accountable for following departmental standard operating procedures as well as cGMP procedures. As the Production Assistant you will be a valued member of our manufacturing team, ensuring high quality products are provided to our valued customers!

Production Assistant responsibilities:

  • Performs tasks and functions associated with filling, labeling and packaging of final product.
  • Operates production equipment in compliance with company procedure and safe work practices
  • Ensures accurate documentation of departmental records
  • Ensures work areas are clean/sterile in accordance to Good Manufacturing Practices
  • perform quality checks as required
  • May also have responsibility for cleaning and sterilization of components, preparation and bioburden reduction of materials and components in the Cleaning and Sterilization Department.

Work Hours & Benefits:

  • This position is full time Monday thru Friday, 8:30AM-5:00PM. Immucor Canada offers a comprehensive benefit program and competitive salary.

Production Assistant Qualifications/Skills:

  • Strong hand eye coordination
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processing
  • Ability to pick product, verify lot numbers and assist with quality checks
  • Ability to read and understand procedures and protocols
  • Able to work independently as well as within a team
  • Must possess strong written and oral communication skills, and able to read and write in English
  • Must possess good time management and organizational skills

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months laboratory experience is an asset
  • Familiarity with WHMIS, GMP, Safe Work Practices and ISO Quality Systems would be a distinct advantage.
  • Background in biological sciences or laboratory experience is an asset.

This position is a permanent, full-time position.
