Laborer, Dish And Linen Department

Summary

The individual under the direction of the department manager and along with other team members is responsible for the timely and safe cleaning and organizing of various linen and dishware items. The individual will operate a dishwashing machine, multiple washing machines and an industrial ironer. The individual will assist team members in preparing rental orders in a timely manner for delivery crews and customers to ensure delivery and customer pick-up schedules are met.

Job Duties

· Perform all duties required to prepare glassware, dishware and cutlery orders:

o Use a dishwashing machine and by hand, clean all dirty glassware, dishware and cutlery after being returned from customers and as necessary.

· Perform all duties required to prepare linen orders:

o Use washing machines and dryers, clean all tablecloths, napkins and other linens as they are returned from customers.

o Use an industrial ironer to iron linens sorted by size and colour.

o Hang clean linens and tag them for size.

• Pull and stage orders for delivery crews or customer pick-ups.
• Greet and assist customers with loading and unloading of the rental equipment.
• Make sure the customer understands proper usage and safety features of the rental equipment.
• Complete and return paperwork to office.
• Return clean inventory to its proper storage location.
• Report any damages or shortages.
• Assist in implementing, sustaining and developing quality process improvements that focus on delivery and site up of event sites and customer service.
• Attend company meetings and training as required.
• The individual may be asked to fill in other areas such as miscellaneous warehouse work and cleaning as required.

Work Conditions

• Physical ability to lift up to 50lb.
• Overtime as required.
• Hazards associated with the trade.
• Working on short platform ladder.
• Working with chemicals in Dish and laundry cleaning products.
• Working with heat and moving parts of an industrial ironing machine.
• Work mostly indoors with some outdoor work required as necessary.
• Prolonged standing, walking, lifting, squatting and bending.
• Other assigned tasks as necessary.

Job Type: Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months

Salary: $17.50-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

• Overtime pay
