We are hiring up to twenty-four (24) full time temporary Labourer 2, seasonal positions (for up to 24 months), to join our crews in the area of Water Distribution & Transmission (WDT), Trouble and Preventative Maintenance working out of the Aurum location in Edmonton, AB!
EPCOR Water Services is looking for self-motivated and hard-working individuals with previous labourer experience to work outdoors in all weather conditions to operate and maintain the Water Distribution & transmission network in Edmonton, AB.

What you’d be responsible for
Reporting to the Manager, WDT Trouble & Preventive Maintenance, the Labourer 2 position is accountable for, but not limited to:
- Repairing water mains, valves, hydrants and other assets.
- Operating valves.
- Flushing and repairing hydrants.
- Performing hydrant flow tests.
- Completing black dirt and concrete restoration.
- Driving EPCOR vehicles to move tools & equipment to and from the job site.
- Use of hand tools, power tools, pumps, and other equipment.
- Supporting excavation crews to complete underground repairs on the water network.
- Updating the system and maintaining accurate records.
- Making safety a priority and supporting the achievement of a "zero injury" culture.
- Demonstrating a high performance, high discipline, safe, accountable, focused, innovative and achievement-oriented, easy to do business with manner of working.
- Various other duties related to operations and maintenance of the Water Distribution system as assigned.
What’s required to be successful
- Successfully achieved a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent level of secondary education (proof of completion will be required).
- A minimum of 1 year of related labour experience.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License
- Limited to 6 demerits or less (prior infractions for unsafe driving behaviours will be valuated and considered for non-selection regardless of current demerits on record)
- A Driver Abstract (5yr. Commercial type) will be required.
- Ability to qualify for and maintain an EPCOR driver's permit.
- Capability to meet the physical demands of the position including:
- Clearance on drug and alcohol testing
- Clearance on a pre-hire medical assessment
- Lifting/carrying weights up to 22kg (50lbs) on a daily basis
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Security Background Clearance (criminal check) and professional (work related) reference checks will be required.

A number of these positions are only required until the fall of 2024, while others may have the opportunity to work up to 24 months as required by operations.
As a successful candidate you may be required to work a standby rotation shift (Wednesday to Wednesday). Candidates may be required to work overtime and perform job duties at work locations both within and outside the boundaries of the City of Edmonton.
