Our dynamic Geomatics team is looking for a Land Survey Technician (Filed Crew Chief) in Weyburn, SK.Joining the GeoVerra team means you’ll step into a career with wide-open opportunities. This is a permanent, full-time position with 20-50 hours per week.
What you will do:
- Conduct field surveys and operate survey instruments and computer equipment to measure distance, angles, elevations and contours.
- Determine precise geographic locations using global positioning systems (GPS) equipment.
- Record measurements and other information obtained in a systematic order during field survey activities.
- Assist in the calculation, analysis and computation of measurements obtained during field surveys.
- Prepare detailed drawings, charts and plans and survey notes and reports.
- Analyze latitude, longitude and angles and compute trigonometric and other calculations to plot features, contours and areas to a specific scale.
- Supervise other Land Survey Technicians (Junior Crew Chiefs) and Survey Assistants.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you will bring:
- Completion of a 1–2-year college program in geomatics or Land Survey technology.
- Required 5 years minimum experience as a Field Crew Chief.
- Mandatory 5+ years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge and experience of surveying software including traditional survey equipment, total station, GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent English Language communication skills - verbal and written; ability to produce accurate and legible field notes.
- Ability to work well as a team and efficient interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail, accuracy and organization skills.
- Experience with the use of ATVs/UTVs, snowmobiles and chainsaws would be considered an asset.
- A valid unrestricted driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract.
- Completed training and valid tickets in First Aid, H2S and CSTS safety training, is an asset.

Job conditions:
- Out of town work, possible shift work, on the road work and frequent travel required.
- Ability to carry, lift and push up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
