Landscape & Maintenance Workers are responsible for the maintenance and up-keep of the mobile homes, and the Spring Creek grounds. These workers remove garbage from the site, transport the waste bins from the construction site to the landfill, and oversee the routine maintenance of Spring Creek vehicles and equipment.
REPORTING
Landscape & Maintenance Workers report to the Landscape & Maintenance Manager.
REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a certain level of mechanical ability and have some background in carpentry/ plumbing /home repairs. Equipment operating experience (skid steer, manlift, scissor lift, mini-excavator) is definitely an asset, as is an upgraded driver’s license (Alberta Class 3 or Class 1).
The physical demands of the job calls for the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., be able to work overhead, be able to work at heights, be able to bend, squat, and perform work your knees.
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Checking septic wells daily (first thing every morning) and performing weekly treatments.
- Monitoring wells bi-weekly and taking readings (to be documented).
- Emptying of all blue recycle bins located on site weekly (or as required on a seasonal basis).
- Emptying all garbage bins on the property weekly.
- Checking for, and removing, loose debris left near garbage bins as required.\
- Making repairs within the mobile units, which may include minor plumbing repairs, re-lighting furnaces, repairing or replacing flooring, doing drywall repairs, painting, replacing doors, replacing appliances, and other minor repairs needed.
- Repairing infrastructure within the park (water lines, water mains, and sewer repairs).
- Removing snow throughout the property using shovels, brooms, snowblowers, and skid steers.
- Working on landscape construction: Installing rock work, installing underground sprinkler systems, spreading earth, planting shrubs and trees, laying sod, spreading bark chips, and watering in new plantings.
- Working on Landscape Maintenance: Mowing grass, pruning trees and shrubs, removing trees as required, picking weeds, spreading bark chips, and picking up garbage.
- Staining and painting of picnic tables, benches, fences, etc. on Spring Creek property.
- Performing routine maintenance on Spring Creek-owned vehicles and equipment, including washing and cleaning out company-owned vehicles and equipment.
- Keeping the Maintenance Shop clean and organized.
- Responding to after-hour calls on an emergency basis.
