Large Animal Veterinarian

Metzger Veterinary Services is a veterinary practice that was established in 2002 by Dr. Ken Metzger, in Linwood, Ontario. We offer a full range of veterinary services including emergency and preventative health consultations. We serve a considerable portion of Ontario’s livestock industry. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Veterinary Technician or Registered Veterinary Technician with a special focus on Small Ruminant Health and Production.

Job Duties:

• Complete laboratory procedures, record, invoice and report results as appropriate
• Clean and organize lab, sterilize equipment, sharpen knives, restock kits and trucks as needed
• Assist with feed production quality control programs through on farm work and completion of paperwork
• Assist veterinarians on farm calls, phone calls, processing and equipment maintenance
• Assist clinic staff with customer service
• Trans-abdominal pregnancy diagnosis of small ruminants (sheep and goats) or ability to learn

Special consideration will be given to applicants who have small ruminant industry experience, experience with trans-abdominal pregnancy diagnosis of small ruminants and overall livestock handling experience.

This is a full-time position located at our Linwood, Ontario location. We offer an industry leading remuneration package, including benefits.
