Lawn Care Maintenance (Summer, Temporary-May-Sept, FT)
· Reports to: Farm Manager
· Term: Summer, Temporary (May-Sept), Full-Time

· Pay Rate: $16.29ph (under 18 yrs. Old); $19.35ph (18+)
· Shift:
· 8-hour day shift, with a schedule that can be different from week to week based on the requirements of the farm
· Rotation: Yes. Rotating weekend and holiday schedule.
We are hiring Student Lawn Care positions for our farm in Lyn, Ontario. You will be part of our farm team, where we pride ourselves on our friendly, relaxed, and collaborative work culture. This role will suit individuals who like to be active, who like variety in their tasks, where no two days are the same, and who believe in always learning and striving for continuous improvement.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
· General gardening work including planting, weeding, watering at multiple sites seasonally.
· Specific gardening work: planting trees, reforestation / mowing
· Safely use farm equipment.
· Follow farm protocols and programs (workplace safety, security, animal welfare, food safety, on-farm biosecurity)
· Follow existing farm practices to meet and exceed internal and external audit standards.
· Must have valid driver’s license.
· Other odd jobs
Work environment:
· Barn environments that can be noisy, odorous, hot, humid, and dusty
· Physical activity in a farm environment, like pushing and pulling, crouching, bending, reaching, as well as some climbing and working at heights.
· Occasional repetitive lifting of objects of 10-25 pounds
Qualifications:
· Previous lawn maintenance experience an asset.
· Able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
· Demonstrates positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
· Demonstrates some observation, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
· Communication skills
· Able to perform physical tasks that require strength, coordination, and dexterity. Able to occasionally lift 10-25 lbs repetitively.
· Able to show up to work on time and ready to work. Must have flexibility in scheduling. Willing to work until the task is complete, which can require longer hours from time to time.
· Able to execute all tasks in a safe manner.
· On the job training will be provided.
