Lead Cook & Food Truck Manager

Full-time, seasonal position from May to September 2024

Roxy's Diner Food Truck is a stationary Food Truck based at Alder Bay RV Park & Marina near Port McNeill, BC. We are a company that focuses on high-quality, freshly prepared food, with high regard for customer satisfaction. We strive to be a great and fun place to work while providing the absolute best customer service experience around. We promote actively engaging with customers, making sure that they have a great time while being detail-oriented and making sure that we maintain the highest of standards.

We are looking for someone who is willing to take the reins of this promising small business and make it their own. The right applicant will be responsible for cooking and food prep, creating the menu, managing staff as well as food ordering and maintaining proper accounting. This is a great opportunity for a young or up-and-coming cook/chef to make this small and popular restaurant their own and to use their knowledge and creativity to continue to make Roxy’s a food destination on Northern Vancouver Island. Alder Bay management will be on-site to provide support as needed.

Ideal candidate:

• Authorized to work in Canada
• Work experience in food service (preferably 2 - 3+ years experience in restaurants and/or catering
• Supervisory and/or management experience preferred
• Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to foster a team atmosphere and develop and maintain positive working relationships
• Ability to create a menu and weekly specials
• Manage food ordering and food costing
• Manage liquor & on-tap beer ordering and costing
• Manage POS and accounting
• Manage staff and staff schedules
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to think outside the box to problem-solve issues
• Provide exceptional customer service at all times
• Ability to work independently while maintaining the highest standards
• Preparation of all ingredients before and during service
• Prepare and cook the menu to order
• Successful applicant is responsible for attaining Serving It Right certification for liquor sales

Job Type: Seasonal

Salary: $4,000.00-$6,000.00 per month
