Valard Construction LP is seeking a Foreman for our sister company TC Infrastructure. Under the direction of the Division Manager the Foreman position is responsible for leading / coordinating work crew(s) in site construction of underground shallow utilities in new residential subdivisions, safely & efficiently.
Requirements
Objective
Reporting to the Foreman onsite the position is responsible in leading onsite work crew to construct underground shallow utilities in residential subdivisions including: trenching, streetlights, transformers, conduit, electrical cable, gas utility and telecommunication
Responsibilities
Ensures all on-site construction is completed safely and in full accordance with plans, specifications
Responsible for production efficiencies in regards to schedule and quality of work performed by crew
Assist with training new personnel and actively mentor/cross-train new employees
Ensure that the work area is kept safe as well as procedures. Maintain good housekeeping practices
Operate skid-steer, digger, backhoe and trackhoe equipment periodically
Administering company standards, policies, procedures and other regulatory requirements
Work closely and provide direction to other divisions/subtrades (hydrovac, directional-drilling, etc)
Participate / Lead daily Safety Meetings and Hazard Assessments
Other duties as assigned
Qualification Profile:
Minimum 2-years' experience in shallow utility construction
Leadership ability with the ability to direct and communicate with staff efficiently and effectively
Knowledge of Fortis / Epcor / Telus / Shaw / ATCO - Specifications
Strong team player with a positive attitude
Effective problem solver and communicator
Able to understand and construct with all utility drawings
Must have a valid Class-5 driver's license and vehicle to get to site
