Core Responsibilities
As a Legal Assistant to our Family Law Team, your responsibilities will include:
- Review and prioritize incoming/outgoing mail, coordinate faxes, and handle document scanning/copying.
- Draft routine correspondence and transcribe dictations for lawyer review.
- Manage client inquiries, book meetings, and maintain lawyer schedules.
- Conduct client intake, complete conflict searches, and open new client files.
- Maintain electronic and paper client files accurately using document management systems.
- Assist other team members as needed.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Graduate of a Legal Assistant/paralegal program or equivalent experience.
- Previous Legal Assistant experience (3-5 years preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong typing and dictation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
