Located in the beautiful Southern Gulf Islands, Salt Spring Island is a vibrant, active rural community and a great place to live. The Operator plays a key role in ensuring the continuance of high-quality drinking water production and distribution. The District supplies surface water from St. Mary and Maxwell Lakes. A level IV DAF plant and a complex level IV distribution and reservoir system convey water to approximately 5,600 full time residents. Plans are underway to construct an additional DAF water treatment plant by 2025 for the Maxwell system.
Depending on qualifications, the wage for this position is $71,780.80 to $83,428.80 annually and is eligible for overtime and standby pay. The District also has a comprehensive benefits package and provides a bi- weekly RRSP contribution paid into a self-directed RRSP fund equal to 8.61% of the employee’s annual salary.
