Hiring the Position of
Library Technician, Elementary
Responsibilities
Reporting to the School Principal, the Library Technician will:
Support the educational needs of the students, providing teachers with supplementary resources for classroom instructors.
Qualifications and Skills
Completion of a two-year Community College program in Library Technology or University Degree with willingness to acquire technical courses.
Six months of recent, related experience with an automated library system.
Organizes and maintains circulation of all library materials.
Maintains and updates library resources and conducts regular inventory including cataloguing and classification.
Conducts activities related to the acquisition and circulation of library materials.
Supports curriculum initiatives through provision and promotion of relevant library materials.
Works in a professional manner in accordance with organizational and departmental expectations.
Works cooperatively and positively with others to facilitate an effective team environment.
Assumes any other duties as assigned.
