Job Description:

We are actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team serving Manitoba's northern remote communities. This role emphasizes providing primary nursing care across various settings, with opportunities to support in emergency medicine and obstetrics as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care within the LPN scope of practice, adhering to clinical and professional standards.
• Assist in emergency medical situations and obstetric care under the supervision of RNs and physicians, ensuring timely and effective patient care.
• Conduct nursing assessments, contribute to care planning, and participate in the execution of care plans with a focus on patient safety and well-being.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patients for adverse reactions and effectiveness.
• Facilitate new admits, discharges, and transfer processes, ensuring a smooth transition for patients and their families.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide holistic care, including attending care conferences and contributing valuable insights.
• Maintain accurate patient records and report any significant changes in patient conditions to the supervising RN or physician.
• Adhere to infection control practices and advocate for the safety and dignity of all patients.

Qualifications:

• Current practicing registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
• Graduate of a recognized Practical Nursing program.
• Current CPR certification, with willingness to obtain additional certification in emergency care or obstetrics as needed.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated ability to work in high-pressure situations, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
• Experience in rural or remote healthcare settings is an asset.
