Life Skills Program Coach

(Full Time Position)

Minimum Qualifications, ALL of which must be met in order to be considered for the position:

• M.S.W.; or B.S.W. or M.A. or B.A. in Child and Youth Care.

• Knowledge of social work policies, procedures, ethics, principles and practice.

• Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and contemporary issues affecting Indigenous peoples, preferably Métis.

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

• Excellent organizational, record-keeping and management skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Proficiency in the use of computer software, including ability to create statistical reports in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Experience:

• Two years recent, and directly related, experience in family and child welfare, (depending upon degree), preferably in an Indigenous organization;

• Preference given to applicants with recent supervisory experience (within the last two years).

Location:

• At the office of Island Métis Family & Community Services Society, located at 345 Wale Road, Victoria, BC.

This position requires union membership Hourly rate is $37.55 - $47.46, based on Paraprofessional grid level 14 step 1, and governed by the current Indigenous Services Collective Agreement. Normal schedule of work is 35 hours per week, performed Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, may include other hours based on agency need.
