Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
Strike is looking for Light Equipment Operator with relevant experience in oil & gas construction/facility maintenance. Typical day to day work will be to load and unload material, move aggregate material, rig and transport material throughout site, work outside equipment as necessary supporting labour/trades crews.

PROJECT/POSITION DETAILS
  • Candidates must be local to the Fort Saskatchewan/Edmonton area
  • No LOA, sub, or travel allowance
  • Dow Chemical
  • This job is not being run by our mechanical shop in Fort Saskatchewan - they will not be able to answer questions about the position
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Assist in aligning pipes and performing related activities during assembly
  • Operate a telehandler to move and lift pipe spools, load trailers, and transport other miscellaneous material throughout the site
  • Assist other tradespeople with the completion of their duties when required
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment
  • Identify and report hazards or unsafe work practices
  • Participate in pre-job toolbox meetings to identify potential hazards and measures to eliminate or minimize them
  • Ensure the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment while performing tasks
  • Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
  • Candidates with skid steer experience preferred
Education
  • Must possess valid Ground Disturbance (101 or 201) and CSTS 09/2020 tickets
  • Must possess a valid, non-graduated driver's license
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working outdoors
