Skye Cafe & Bistro is looking for a professional line cook to prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications and to set up stations for menu. Line cook duties will consist of assisting the chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.
hours of work 7:30 am to 3:30 pm - Wednesday to Sunday
Position Requirements:
- Food handler certification preferred (preferred but not required)
- Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment, must be able to multitask
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a high-volume environment
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours at a time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
Responsibilities:
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, preparing meats, or preparing sauces)
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions promptly and accurately
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately (e.g. with supplies that are available or off limits)
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
