The opportunity…


The Liquor Store Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the provision of retail sales of liquor to the public, ordering, receiving and inventory management of liquor products and supervision of a large team of Liquor Store Clerks. The position is also responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks associated with the efficient operation of the Whitehorse Liquor Store such as maintaining all store records, participating in store security functions that helps to ensure the safety of all staff and members of the public.
We are looking for an individual who is interested in working in a fast paced retail and client service environment where timelines, accuracy and attention to detail are essential. We are looking for an individual who has strong organizational skills and enjoys working both independently and as part of a dynamic team. The person we are seeking will have sound judgment, excellent interpersonal and communication, and problem-solving skills. If you have good initiative, professionalism, a positive attitude and are looking to learn new supervisory skills, we would be interested in hearing from you.

  • Considerable experience working in a high-volume retail environment providing customer service
  • Experience supervising and scheduling staff
  • Recent financial management, cash balancing/handling experience and using a computerized point-of-sale system
  • Experience with inventory management and control

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Additional information

Job requirements: Wearing safety footwear; wearing and maintaining a uniform provided by Yukon Liquor Corporation, some heavy lifting (up to 40lbs) is required and working Monday to Saturday on a scheduled rotational basis year-round.
