What you’ll do: Reporting to the Liquor Store Manager, the successful candidate will:
- Supervise the daily store management, ensuring adherence to merchandising standards, marketing efforts, and housekeeping standards;
- Ensure high level of customer service is provided at all times;
- Be professional, friendly and courteous in the work environment;
- Be responsible for ordering products and supplies according to the department’s needs;
- Maintain a positive relationship with vendors and identify consumer trends to determine expected sales volumes for new products;
- Be responsible for inventory levels and turns of all Liquor Store commodities;
- Ensure claims, invoices and all other paper work is done timely, accurately and meets policy and procedure;
- Assist the manager in scheduling staff according to sales needs, when required;
- Provide support for team members through on the job training;
- Be responsible for the adherence and enforcement of Meadow Lake Co-op Policies & Procedures and the asset protection program;
- Be responsible for the adherence to Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) operating guidelines;
- Participate in all OH&S requirements, and be knowledgeable about the compliance with OH&S policies, procedures and legislation;
- Ensure confidentiality regarding pricing, financial and marketing strategies, and Human Resources information;
- Other duties as assigned.
Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:
- You have the ability to work independently and take direction when required;
- You have previous retail experience;
- Experience with wine, spirits and beer in a retail setting is not compulsory but is an asset;
- Preference will be given to applicants with SIRS Certification and applicants willing to take the course. It will be paid for by the Co-op ;
- Preference will be given to applicants interested in enrolling in Level 1 Sommelier training;
- Applicants must be available to work mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. You must be flexible;
- Applicants must be at least 19 years of age;
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
