Duties and Responsibilities:
-Support legal team with various legal matters such as bankruptcy and insolvency, directors' and officers' liability, securities litigation, construction litigation, etc.;
-Manage daily filing;
-Assist Firm's lawyers with drafting pleadings, document production and the Discovery process and drafting other court documents;
-Prepare for hearings and trials;
-Participate in the analysis of the most contiguous points of the claim; and
-Additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
-3+ years' experience as a Law Clerk with a focus on commercial and construction litigation;
-College Law Clerk Diploma or Institute of Law Clerks Ontario Certificate;
-University degree will be considered an asset;
-Comprehensive working knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure is required;
-Knowledge of iManage, ACL, Relativity, Kofax PDF, Word, Excel and Outlook
-A team player with a strong work ethic and a desire for continuous improvement
-Professional, flexible attitude, with strong commitment to client service; and
-Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
