Lodge Maintenance

Silver Water Wheel Lodge is a Full Service, American Plan, remote fishing lodge located on the south, shore of Lac Seul, one hour north of Dryden, in northwest Ontario.

We are currently seeking a positive, hardworking, conscientious, professional, and skilled person to fill our Lodge Maintenance position.

Lodge Maintenance is responsible for performing duties throughout the grounds, cabins, and lodge to keep things clean, organized, and running smoothly.

Qualifications/Skillsets:

- Ability to work well independently and with a team

- Experience working with the public and personable

- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- Knowledge/ experience in carpentry, mechanical, plumbing

- Attention to detail

- Problem solving

- Ability to handle the solitude of living in a remote location

- Must have valid Canadian driver's license

- Available May 4 - October 1 of the 2024 season

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Lawn care: mowing, string trimming, raking, clean up sticks/trash, weeding

- Landscaping: assisting with planting/ watering flowers, mulching

- Cabin, lodge, camp building maintenance

- Generator maintenance

- Odd jobs

- Assisting Housekeeping on large changeover days

- Other duties as assigned.

Daily wage is dependent upon experience.

Room and Board: Nominal feel charged only on days worked and includes housing, all meals (even on days off) such as steak, prime rib, pork chops..., and laundry. The Room and Board fee is REFUNDED at the end of the season if employment is completed in a satisfactory manner.

Staff are also allowed use of boats/equipment at no charge or a small fee for extended use.
