Lodge Maintenance Technician

MAGINO MINE:

Argonaut Gold is a Canadian-based gold producer with a portfolio of operations in North America. Focused on becoming a low-cost, mid-tier gold producer, the Company’s newest gold mine, Magino is expected to become Argonaut’s largest and lowest cost mine. Commercial production at Magino has been achieved, which is the first step in transforming the Company as it enters a pivotal growth stage. The Company also has three additional operating mines including the Florida Canyon mine in Nevada, USA, where it is pursuing potential for redevelopment and additional growth, La Colorada mine in Sonora, Mexico and San Agustin mine in Durango, Mexico.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in planning and execution of small-scale maintenance and carpentry projects at our Lodge and related properties on our mine site.
• Participate in road maintenance activities including sanding and salting, snow clearing and removal to approved storage areas.
• Routine validation of fire alarm and suppression systems.
• General building and site maintenance including construction and installation of signage and walkways.
• Support the Lodge team with any ad hoc repairs.
• Complete daily activity reports
• Promote safety, health & risk awareness at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 5 years of building maintenance experience, preferably in mining construction or operation with focus on carpentry and plumbing.
• Relevant trade experience in the mining, construction or other heavy industry is an asset.
• Familiarity with Ontario standards as related to buildings, water, sewer and fire alarm and suppression systems is an asset.
• Understanding of water pumping and piping systems is an asset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven commitment to safety, health, risk management and environmental standards
• Must have a valid G drivers license
• Knowledge of furnaces and hot water tanks
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• The role is located at the Magino Mine, which is approximately 88 kilometres northeast of Wawa, Ontario, Canada.
• The ideal candidate for the role will work on a rotation of 7 days on / 7 days off, 12 hour days.
• Magino promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
