Qualifications
Experience with the company’s products, including methods and processes, or 5 years of experience in a similar role with a demonstrable track record. Familiarity with alternative transportation. Ability to deal with customer’s receiving and logistics departments. Familiarity with placing POs with other companies.
Objective
Logistics and Purchasing Administrator is responsible for maintaining the scheduling of products and shipments in conjunction with approved carriers to ensure product delivery complies with the company food safety and quality management system. In addition, the activities of Logistics and Purchasing Administrator can impact sales, as they are responsible for providing on-time, full fill deliveries. Logistics and Purchasing Administrator will also be responsible for maintaining the quantity of resell inventory.
Responsibilities
Logistics and Purchasing Administrator is responsible for ensuring that all purchasing, storage and logistics activities are performed in accordance with company food safety and quality policies.
To follow company policies at all times, especially those relating to food safety, quality, and personal safety. While in production and storage areas, Logistics and Purchasing Administrator is responsible for maintaining uncompromising food safety and quality.
Logistics and Purchasing Administrator responsibilities:
· To arrange transportation of product to the various destinations and monitor the effectiveness of our transport partners
· To organize the shipments each day so that the product reaches our customers as efficiently and safely as possible
· Maintain communication with shipping companies and distributors
· Maintain accurate records of shipping and distribution
· Communicate product stock receiving and shipping to the Purchasing & Planning team and Shipping/Receiving team
· Communicate customer and distributor requests and changes to the Shipping/Receiving teams
· Accurately complete and maintain records demonstrating food safety and quality as required by SQF, including those relating to traceability
· Produce monthly reports for intercompany transactions related to shipping
· Participate in and be assessed as competent for all relevant training programs and materials
Strategic Purchasing
· Liaise with the Quality Assurance Manager, SQF Practitioner and suppliers to maintain the company’s Supplier Approval Program
· Maintain resell inventory levels, suggesting repurchasing amounts to Director of Operations
· Issues purchase orders and records receipt of goods
