SalaryThe Lot Assistant works with other members of the Lot team to coordinate OPENLANE's vehicle inventory. Duties can include marking/staging vehicles for the sale or transport, inventory scanning & control, photographing vehicles for inspection reports, flagging vehicles being marshaled, assisting with snow removal, and more.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure vehicles are ready for auction and ensuring vehicles are in working order (i.e. boosting, adding gas, attending to lockouts, preparing for towing, and filling tires)
- Recording any services provided (fuel, tow, etc) to ensure accurate billing
- Preparing vehicles for the auction, staging for reconditioning shops or transport by ensuring they are moved & parked in their assigned areas
- Moving, marking and/or staging vehicles as instructed
- Provides customer service by assisting customers or other internal departments in retrieving their vehicles
- Assist with vehicle stock in & check out process
- Manual snow removal as required (clearing vehicles of snow, light shoveling in yard), and may be required to operate snow removal equipment (plow truck, bobcat, loader)
- May be required to tow vehicles
- Photograph vehicles post-reconditioning
- Operate a variety of motor vehicles safely, in accordance with our driver safety procedures
- Maintain a safe work environment, reporting all hazards & incidents to supervisor immediately
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications include:
- High school education (or equivalent) preferred
- Valid driver’s license & ability to drive both standard and automatic transmissions required
- Licensed to operate motorcycles or ATVs is an asset
- Experience operating snow removal equipment (plow truck, bobcat, loader) is an asset
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
- Ability and willingness to work in various weather conditions
- Intermediate smartphone skills required
- Basic computer skills required
- Excellent reading and legible writing skills
- Able to efficiently respond to various requests at one time
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Satisfactory drivers' abstract & criminal record check required
