Job Title: Machine Operator – Wheelset Inspection

Role Definition:

We are currently seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team and operate the wheelset inspection machine. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our products by utilizing their experience with 8" micrometers and industrial background to perform precise measurements and inspections.

Responsibilities:

• Operate the wheelset inspection machine according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Perform inspections on wheelsets to detect any defects or irregularities in accordance with quality standards.
• Utilize 8" micrometers and other measuring instruments to accurately measure dimensions and tolerances of wheelsets.
• Interpret inspection results and communicate findings to supervisors or quality control personnel.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance on the machine as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize machine performance and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Machine Operator in an industrial setting.
• Proficiency in using 8" micrometers and other measuring instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise measurements.
• Understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours if necessary.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Schedule: Shift work (currently two shift operation - days 7am-3pm and afternoons 3pm to 11pm rotating weekly), overtime and weekends as required. *Shift Premium for afternoon shift.
• Competitive salary with overtime after 40 hrs worked.
• $800 retention bonus (paid after probation, subject to all applicable deductions)
