POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Le St-Charles, managed by Cogir, offers a friendly atmosphere where it is stimulating to work. We have a dedicated and caring team for seniors.
We are currently looking for a Maintenance Worker for a permanent full-time day position.

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze the work to be done, determine the necessary materials to order/purchase and organize tasks in order to meet deadlines

• Carry out various renovations and minor repairs in residents' apartments and common areas of the residence
• Clear corridors and access doors of items that could be bulky and harm the safety of residents
• Ensure vacant apartments are clean and in excellent condition before next rentals
• In summer, mow the lawn and water the flowers
• In winter, clear snow and salt entrance sidewalks
• Maintain the cleanliness of parking spaces, grounds and flower beds
• Notify your manager of the items and materials to order
• Perform all other tasks related to his duties and at the request of his immediate superior.
• Perform preventative maintenance on heating, air conditioning and ventilation equipment in the residence
• Respond to emergencies and service calls

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1 year of relevant experience will be considered an important asset
• Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset
• Occupational health and safety training
• Diploma of Professional Studies (DEP) in building maintenance (an asset)
• Minimum experience of 5 years in minor manual work (painting, electricity, carpentry, plumbing)
• Holds a valid driver's license
