POSITION TITLE: MAINTENANCE PERSON
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager, Assistant General Manager, General Manager
Summary: The Maintenance Person is responsible to plan and carry out preventive maintenance throughout the property to ensure standards are maintained for guest comfort and the safe and efficient running of all equipment and to maintain the property according to standards; to ensure guest satisfaction through proper and effective interpersonal skills and the proper execution of maintenance operations. To handle guest requests or complaints in a professional and timely manner. To achieve goals that support the overall company’s objectives while developing and building relationships.

· Bilingual (French & English) an asset
· Ability to read, write and speak English
· Hospitality driven & Possess a strong commitment to deliver exceptional guest service
· Must have an energetic, positive approach and attitude to work
· Must have a minimum of 6-12 months customer service experience
· Must have a minimum of 6-12 months building maintenance
· Ability to grasp, bend, stoop, push or pull heavy loads weighing up to 75 lbs
· Adhere to and knowledgeable of Health & Safety practices
· Correct and proper use of chemicals based WHMIS standards
· Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and with purpose and urgency
· Attention to details
· Carry out preventative maintenance throughout the property
· Picking up garbage from areas including the exterior perimeter of the property
· Use & care of equipment
· Landscaping & Snow removal around property
· General repairs, painting, plumbing, minor electrical knowledge
· Adhere to all Company, hotel & departmental policies & SOPs
· Team player/collaborator
· Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic & changing environment
· Must have the ability to work & communicate verbally & in writing in a professional manner to guest and staff
· Must have the ability to express themselves diplomatically with staff and guests
· Must be able to work & concentrate in a high volume area
· Must be efficient, well organized and able to handle multiple tasks
· Liaise with Housekeeping & Front Office regularly
· Take initiative in all facets
