We are actively seeking a Maintenance Planner to support our Saskatchewan thermal assets. Reporting to the Superintendent - Maintenance, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for detailed maintenance planning to maximize facility equipment availability minimizing production impact in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner. Main locations of support include: Plover Lake, North Battleford, Macklin area.
Essential Functions:
  • Work closely in conjunction with the Operations leads and Maintenance team to gain clarity, prioritize work orders and ensure operational constraints are mitigated and addressed as per priority.
  • Scope, plan and procure materials for work orders that are assigned using Prometheus and Maximo.
  • Create detailed tasks in work orders to be scheduled by the area scheduler.
  • Develop job plans in Maximo for repetitive activity to streamline the work order process.
  • Run history reports in Maximo to ensure a clean database and reduce work order backlog within the system.
  • Provide (90 day look ahead) for major production impacting activities.
  • Support all base maintenance trades with guidance, direction, and maintenance coordination activities.
  • Provide in field supervision of job execution as required.
  • Ensure all pressure and process equipment maintenance complies with current engineering standards and TSASK Legislation.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in conjunction with company policies and procedures, as well as company / governmental safety practices are adhered to.
  • Actively contribute to monthly, quarterly, and yearly facility budgetary estimates and timelines.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with all Key Stakeholders of the asset and Company.
  • Provide cost estimates, as required, for larger jobs.
  • Close out work orders and maintain electronic records to document work that has been completed such as: work orders, inspection reports and material requests.
  • Provide vacation coverage for area Planner/Scheduler.
Qualifications Include:
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Trades certificate an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in project planning/scheduling or field related maintenance experience.
  • Experience with change control management.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license required.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Cost Control and Document Control functions.
  • Strong level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, and maintenance work processes.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships and work within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent reporting skills combined with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in with Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of a Computer Centralized Maintenance System (CCMS) Maximo is an asset.
  • Sound understanding of maintenance/operations as it relates to safe and efficient production in a thermal asset.
  • Demonstrate continued knowledge of corporate work processes and values.
  • Receptive to innovative ideas/concepts/divergent views.
  • Demonstrate flexible/ innovative thinking skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, open-minded, and results oriented.
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, multi trade environment.
Work Environment:
  • This position will be responsible for planning maintenance activities at 2-3 SAGD facilities in Saskatchewan and will be based out of these field offices.
  • Normal work schedules are 8-hour days, 5 days on shift and 2 days off.
