About the Position
The Maintenance Planner reports to the Maintenance Superintendent and is responsible for planning and scheduling all the maintenance work performed in the plant.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with production to prioritize required repair work for planning

  • Approve WO’s and edit work orders to insure accuracy, standardization, billing/payments, proper support documentation, timeframe, assigning resources, and updating as needed

  • Walkdown WO and make Plan Jobs work with Maintenance Lead and Maintenance Manager to estimate manpower duration, safety considerations, equipment, tools, materials, etc.

  • Create schedule of WO’s for full following week as well as creating schedules for shutdowns.

  • Select planned work orders based on priorities that are available for inclusion on the upcoming week’s schedule

  • Create follow up work orders and update records based on technician comments

  • Group work orders that can be planned and worked together to optimize utilization of resources

  • Order all required materials and verify they are accurate before scheduling the work

  • Receive parts in purchasing system upon arrival

  • Kit parts to WO’s (direct issue or from warehouse)

  • Report Maintenance KPI’s (Schedule Compliance, PM Compliance, etc.)

  • Be primary responsible person for warehouse management (Receiving, issuing, setting up and managing inventory, etc.)

  • Utilize the Performance Excellence process.

  • Apply proactive maintenance reliability practices to avoid maintenance expense and to avoid equipment outages where possible.

  • Apply best practice application and continuous improvement strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Familiar with Manufacturing Plant Operation and Maintenance

  • Possess well developed historian and communication skills - verbal and written

  • Must be a self-directed individual, well organized, goal oriented and be an excellent problem solver

  • Computer skills & software knowledge required.

Education or Work Experience

  • 2 years experience as Maintenance Planner preferred

Additional Information

  • Work in accordance with local/provincial legislation

  • Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements
