SalaryElement Controls a division of CenterFire Energy Group, a multifaceted organization supplying Electrical, Instrumentation and Mechanical service to the Canadian industrial sector is looking for an experienced Power Systems Electrician Salary Range: $50-$70/hr (Depending on experience)
Work Schedule: 9-80 schedule, Monday to Thursday: 9 hours/day, Friday: 8 hours/day, Every second Friday off. Overtime and above regular shift schedule may be required.
Job Description:
We are seeking an PSE to contribute to the upkeep of all electrical aspects of our pipeline. The role involves performing preventative maintenance and repairs efficiently to ensure minimal service interruptions. Responsibilities:
Install, inspect, maintain, operate, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate various electric, electronic, and Programmable Logic (PLC) control systems and high voltage systems.
Inspect, test, maintain, repair/replace, calibrate various instrumentation devices including switchgear, Pressure Transmitters, Temperature Transmitters, Pressure Switches, Level Switches, Level Transmitters, etc.
Conduct inspection and maintenance checks on control systems.
Maintain electrical switchgear and power distribution.
Perform preventative maintenance checks on pumps, motors, and auxiliary equipment.
Assist in mechanical repairs of valves, valve actuators, pump seals, measurement equipment, etc.
Ensure general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as required.
Complete and maintain necessary documentation for compliance.
Oversee construction and/or maintenance activities conducted by third parties.
Be available for overtime work and on-call rotation to respond to operational issues after hours.
Possess intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office programs.
Capable of maintaining, adjusting, and making minor repairs to pumps, air compressors, test equipment, etc.
Fulfill other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
PSE or Journeyman Electrical certification.
Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience.
Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
Proficient with computers and Microsoft products.
Preferably certified as a Power System technician and/or Electrical Journeyman.
Experience or certification in instrumentation.
Industrial experience with HVAC/R.
Familiarity with pump station, terminal, and pipeline facilities.
Knowledge of pertinent equipment including pumps, motors, valves, switchgear, flow meters, PLCs, motor control centers, etc.
Working Conditions:
Primarily field-oriented (outdoor) with occasional indoor functions for training, meetings, and documentation.
Work may occur in high noise level areas and areas with crude oil and solvent vapors.
Physical Requirements:
Physical tasks include balancing, bending, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 50 pounds), kneeling, lifting (objects up to 100 pounds), pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, and meeting visual and hearing requirements.
Mental Requirements:
Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.
Capability to comprehend complex problems and explore alternative solutions.
Effective organization of thoughts and ideas.
Proficiency in prioritizing work schedules.
Capacity to make decisions impacting the immediate work unit and monitor broader impacts.
