To ensure the facility and the equipment continued to be maintained in a manner to allow for the production of safe quality products, through the preventative maintenance programs. Ensure proper set-up of equipment to ensure effective operational controls during production procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform building maintenance duties, including painting, minor plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance.
- Repair of faulty equipment and damaged structures.
- Preventative maintenance procedure.
- Maintain inventory records for equipment and supplies.
- Inspection of building, equipment, and systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications of facilities.
- Periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is compliant and up to standards.
- Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocols.
- Repair mechanical systems to ensure they are compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Snow removal - clean snow and ice from walkways.
- Lawn care - cut grass and tend to grounds and plants.
- Preparation of the production line in the mornings and between batches.
- Fill up, load, and unload chemical materials.
Working Conditions:
- Shift schedule is Tuesday – Saturday, 9am- 5:30pm. Hours may vary based on business needs.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and in damp wet conditions.
- Heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
- Physical requirements: bending, kneeling, reaching, standing for extended periods of time, climbing ladders, lifting and carrying boxes, tools and equipment.
- Ability to work at heights.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years maintenance experience in a Millwright role preferred.
- A technical diploma/ticket is preferred.
- Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Valid Operator-In-Training (OIT) Certificate - Waste Treatment would be an asset.
- Successful candidate must be willing to obtain this OIT Certificate.
- A valid Ontario class G driver’s license
- Must be prepared to respond to emergency situations and able to work the hours necessary to ensure the effective operation of the plant.
- Welding experience is an asset.
Compensation:
- Wage range: $28.00- $32.00 / hourly
- Wage and compensation are based on knowledge and experience.
- Wage & Performance review after a successful completion of a 90-day probationary period. Further to that wage and performance will be review annually.
