Your Opportunity:
Reporting to and taking direction from the Facilities Maintenance & Engineering Manager or their designates, the Maintenance Worker II will be responsible for performing maintenance activities specific to the operation of AHS facilities and campus grounds. This position will maintain and operate a 1.5 Tonne AHS truck that will connect to a gooseneck trailer that contains a mobile health care unit providing supervised consumption, and treatment for overdose prevention. Relocation of this unit may occur, predominately within the City of Red Deer. We are looking for an individual who shows a strong support for our treatment programs and a willingness to perform the maintenance tasks required of this treatment unit. Work may entail interior and exterior maintenance activities in or around the location of the mobile unit. The employee would seek out and assist trades or skilled employees with maintenance activities regarding the maintenance and function of the mobile health care unit. While under the direct report of FM&E Management, maintenance tasks will often be performed without direct supervision, and we are looking for someone who can work independently or with minimum supervision. This role often assists other classifications and trades, in addition to assigned duties, all in accordance with approved Facilities Maintenance and Engineering practices, procedures and processes.
Description:
As a Maintenance Worker II, you may perform routine preventative and demand maintenance activities within the exterior and interior of the building. Under general supervision, you may perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on facility architectural, structural and mechanical systems/components to ensure safety and efficient operation of the building systems and equipment. You may perform a wide range of general maintenance duties including maintenance and repair of drywall, floors and painting. Additional duties may include minor plumbing repair; minor repairs on equipment; checks on equipment for pressure and temperature; and disassembly of equipment for cleaning.
