Banff Trail Riders is located in the townsite of Banff, offering guided horseback tours from 1 hour to 6 days in length. We are a very active tourist business with several components that make up the overall company. Maintenance personnel are responsible for the upkeep of multiple locations, including the Banff Trail Rider Stables, Banff Springs Corrals, Cookout locations, and staff accommodations. Based at our stables, you will be required to ensure all our animals are fed when required (as directed by a Manager), and ensure the environment for guests, staff and horses is safe. This includes regular inspections of fences, gates, and buildings. Knowledge of metalwork, woodwork, plumbing, electrics and construction will all be relevant in a role as varied and unique as this.
This position will require you to:
- Maintenance and upkeep all ranch vehicles, equipment, and onsite buildings.
- Unloading hay and feeding with tractor.
- Lawn and grounds keeping.
- Hauling horses between various company locations.
- Help guests on and off horses.
- Interact with guests in a fun professional manner.
Qualifications:
- Dynamic and creative problem solver.
- Experience with large vehicles an asset. Goose neck and Fifth wheel trailers.
- Experience in operating and upkeep of tractors.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work within a team and independently.
- Valid First Aid.
- Valid Drivers License. Alberta Class 5 or equivalent.
- Must be comfortable working around horses.
