11-month contract (February 1-December 31)
Reports To: Director, Grey Cup Festival Operations, HSG
The Hamilton Sports Group, which operates the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Football Club and Forge FC, is an organization with a rich history both on and off the field. The company is committed to creating a world class fan experience at all Tim Hortons Field events. In 2023 the Tiger-Cats and City of Hamilton will host the 110th Grey Cup where the organization will be responsible for the development and execution of an innovative Grey Cup Festival.
Reporting to the AVP, Brand, Content & Communications, this role will be responsible for developing and executing HSG’s content strategy to support revenue driving initiatives, acquire and retain marketable fans, and contribute positive brand value. The incumbent will manage a team video producers and graphic designers work alongside the Director, Brand & Consumer Marketing to ensure that fan engagement initiatives align with program deliverables against approved strategic goals.
Essential functions:
Lead marketing efforts for the Grey Cup and Grey Cup Festival including but not limited to:
Ticketing strategy (Grey Cup Championship Game and Grey Cup Festival events)
Facilitation of media buys and campaigns (print, digital, out-of-home, etc.)
Lead with Grey Cup Festival brand and graphic design requirements
Fan communications regarding ticket sales, Grey Cup Festival events, Grey Cup gameday, etc.
Lead communications and media relations efforts for the Grey Cup and Grey Cup Festival including but not limited to:
Content writing and development
Management and execution of media relations, press releases and press conferences
GCF media accreditation
Grey Cup Festival content and social media management (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
Grey Cup Festival photography and videography management
Grey Cup Festival website management (greycupfestival.ca)
Grey Cup Festival promotional ‘Street Team’ management
Other technology integrations including but not limited to: Mobile app, RFID/QR technology
Pageantry – work closely with Grey Cup Festival operations team to ensure brand alignment
Oversight of Grey Cup marketing team (including seasonal interns)
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Experience):
Minimum of five (5) years experience in sports and event management in a stadium, arena, convention environment
Other Considerations:
Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
Candidate must live in the Greater Hamilton Area, within 30-45 minute drive to Tim Hortons Field, or be willing to relocate
HSG prioritizes staff coming into the office to work as a key component of our company culture and as a key contributor to our success as a live event business. While remote work can be authorized for limited periods at certain times during the year, this is a job that requires coming to the office daily
