As the Manager, Accounting at 7shifts, you will oversee all aspects of financial accounting and internal reporting for 7shifts. You will be a change agent, driving improvements in our day-to-day processes, adopting best practices, and leading and mentoring a team of finance professionals. Reporting to the Director, Accounting, this role is ideal for a self-starter who embraces new challenges, and is able to solve problems with simplicity and speed.

What you'll do:
- Serve as a proficient and diligent accounting professional responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations to ensure optimal efficiency
- Demonstrate expertise in financial management, encompassing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and benefits administration, revenue recognition and tax compliance
- Lead the monthly and annual financial close process, meticulously preparing comprehensive and accurate financial packages
- Conduct in-depth variance analysis to identify and rectify discrepancies, contributing to precise financial reporting
- Provide guidance and leadership to the accounting team, fostering professional growth and a culture of continuous improvement
- Exhibit proficiency in revenue recognition and adeptly manage system integrations (Netsuite & Stripe) to maintain seamless financial operations and ensure accuracy and completeness of revenue general ledger accounts and compliance with IFRS 15
- Drive continuous improvement and simplification initiatives to enhance business processes including but not limited to the preparation of annual consolidated financial statements including coordination with auditors
What you bring:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting
- CPA designation
- Experience driving high performance as a people leader
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify gaps, propose solutions, and drive initiatives forward
- Experience working in tech, or at a scale-up - you are a self starter, passionate about taking on challenges, and thrive in a fast paced environment where you can dive in and get hands-on
