The opportunity

We are looking for a Manager, Data Strategy and Governance who will be joining EY's DnA team in this exciting period of growth. We are currently seeking management consultants with experience in the various data management related capabilities - including Data Governance, data operating model, data strategy, etc.- to lead and implement leading-edge data management and strategy projects.

Your keyresponsibilities

  • Help our clients with developing futuristic data and analytics strategy for transforming their business
  • Assist with the setting up of Data and Analytics organizations along with the Operating Model
  • Conduct current state assessments (Data Management and Governance reviews, Data Maturity assessments, Operating Model and Data Literacy assessments), evaluate assessment results, and present findings in a logical and easy-to-understand manner
  • Perform gap analyses to determine initiatives and build out roadmaps to address identified gaps focused on communication plans, governance structures, and investment prioritization for execution
  • Help our clients establish Data Management and Governance programs and drive data ownership and stewardship into the client businesses
  • Assist with data architecture reviews and advise on data solutions that pertain to Data Governance programs (Data Catalogue, Data Quality, Business Glossary, data tools/software, metadata management, master data management, Lineage)
  • Lead multi-functional teams that could consist of both EY and client staff to scope, shape and deliver projects
  • Utilize subject matter expertise and knowledge of client's business to develop proposals
  • Develop our people through coaching, talent development, recruitment, and formal performance management
  • Work with the Data & Analytics (D&A) team to develop thought leadership in the Data Management space through collaborating with EY's internal resources, participating in industry events, etc.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Prior Management Consulting experience in Data Strategy and Management
  • Be self-motivated and passionate about data strategy, management, and governance
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage project delivery
  • Superior written & oral communication and interpersonal skills

Qualification

  • 5+ years of experience in and understanding of concepts and frameworks pertaining to Data and Analytics Strategy, Data Management and Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Risk and Control Frameworks, Data Literacy, Master Data Management
  • Strong preference for at least 4 years experience of working in a Big-4 Consulting firm in delivering Data Strategy and Data Governance projects to clients in the following industries: FSO/Retail/Govt. and Public Sector/ Mining, etc.
  • Strong leadership experience within data management and governance. For example, you may have previously held a position as a business owner for Data management and governance at a large organization or supported the development and implementation of best practice, worked within a Chief Data Office or provided management consulting services for a Chief Data Office
  • Worked with or have an understating of EDM Council DCAM assessment or an alternative data management framework; be certified in EDM Council DCAM Assessment
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders
  • Experience with data management tools such as Collibra, Informatica, MS Purview, Ataccama, etc.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, superior communication (verbal and written) with the ability to lead meetings, hold workshops with executives, communicate complex ideas effectively, advocate solutions and results to technology and business audiences
  • Experience working independently, efficiently, and effectively under tight timelines and delivering results by critical deadlines
  • Experience with client-facing activities such as requirements gathering, facilitating meetings, presentation creation, and ability to prepare client ready deliverables
  • Experience of Agile and traditional SDLC delivery methodologies

The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $92,000 to $165,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city.
