The Role:
As Festival, Events, and Sponsorship Manager, you will oversee the planning, organization, and execution of two of Whistler’s iconic festivals: Whistler Village Beer Festival and Whistler Ski and Snowboard Festival. You will also be responsible for sponsor relations and activation of events we sponsor as well as partner activations that occur within Gibbons businesses. Aligned with our core purpose and vision, your primary focus lies in driving Team Happiness, Guest Happiness, and Community Happiness. Simultaneously, you are dedicated to steering revenue generation and maintaining a profitable income statement.
Responsibilities and Deliverables:
FESTIVAL & EVENTS SPECIFIC:
- Event Planning and Conceptualization, including proposals, budgets, timelines, and objectives.
- Identify, negotiate, and uphold contracts with sponsors, vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Recruit, train, and supervise event staff and volunteers.
- Conduct post-event debriefings to assess event success and identify areas for improvement.
- Research and submit festival grant applications and post-event reports.
- Oversee and be on site for Festivals & Events.
MARKETING:
- Work with Marketing Manager to develop marketing strategies to promote events and attract attendees.
- Oversee all digital and physical marketing collateral.
SALES:
- Work with In resort & Outside Resort Experience Managers to develop sales strategies to sell tickets through in-resort affiliates, the Gibbons Experience Centre, and through outside resort affiliates.
SPONSORSHIP:
- Create sponsorship decks, proposals, and contracts
- Outreach and sell these sponsorships to both corporate partners and locals business
- Plan and execute sponsorship activation components from start to finish
- Facilitate internal and external communications
- Ensure contractual deliverables are met for the client
- Effectively track and measure the ROI and effectiveness of the partnerships
- Oversee and be on site for activations from start to finish
Qualifications:
- Previous events management experience essential with post-secondary education an asset.
- Experience in sponsorship relations, sales, and marketing an asset.
- Proven experience cultivating, securing and growing revenue from partners.
- Resourceful and organized; able to manage competing priorities, complex situations and deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Solutions-oriented and creative problem solver and able to make decisions in consultation with multiple stakeholders.
- Exceptional service focus with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication.
- Ability to think about big-picture strategy and bottom-line result.

Salary and Team Perks:
- $55,000 - $75,000 annual salary based on experience and qualifications.
