Key Job Functions:
- Work with members of the department and other key stakeholders to enhance Olds College’s brand strategy and implement our visual identity
- Oversee development and management of photo and video assets
- Create promotional campaigns for various purposes, including driving recruitment and enrolment, increasing organizational profile, supporting fundraising and development initiatives and other objectives
- Implement and maintain a system of data collection and metrics to evaluate campaign performance and inform future strategies
- Make budgetary recommendations regarding advertising and promotional efforts for the college
- Develop marketing goals to support the overall mandate of the MarComms department and the College as a whole
- Use internal and external data to determine and target audiences
- Proactively find ways to expand the scope and reach of Olds College promotional activities
Management
- Manage the creative/operational arm of the department —professionals in the area of writing, web design, graphic design, content creation and curation, etc.
- Provide leadership to the creative/operational team by disseminating information, providing feedback, advising, coaching and team building (including offering professional development opportunities)
- Conduct performance reviews in accordance with standard practice and collective agreements; establishes regular check-ins with team and individuals. Initiates and manages disciplinary processes, if necessary, within scope of authority and in consultation with People and Culture and in compliance with College policies and standard practices
- Assign project work and follows up with the team to ensure quality and timeline adherence
- Prioritize and allocate work within the creative team, based upon a clear understanding of organizational goals and workloads
- Identify, develop, and document scalable processes that enable the marketing team to be more effective and timely in their daily work
- Approves, monitors, and reports vacation and other absences for all staff under the direct supervision.
- Develop measurement plans with benchmarks and goals for campaigns
- Manage the work within the Brand guidelines of Olds College
Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
- A minimum of five years related work experience
- Excellent teamwork and leadership skills
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Strong graphic design skills
- Strong writing, presentation and networking skills
- Analytical and strategic thinking with strong problem solving abilities
- Ability to take initiative, exercise judgment and apply systems thinking to maximize team productivity and make decisions
Preferred
- Certification in project management
- Experience in post-secondary sector
- Experience with reporting, measuring and analyzing metrics for campaigns and productivity
Conditions of Employment:
- Expectation for on-campus work during regular business hours; exceptions may be made in consultation with Director, Marketing & Communications
- Occasional overtime and/or off-hour work may be required
- Current Criminal Reference check that is free of any offenses.
