Position Summary:
The Manager of Clinical Resources (HR) will manage and lead the clinical HR functions at the Home. The Manager of Clinical Resources (HR) is expected to perform the duties of the position in accordance with all relevant legislation, regulations and the policies and procedures of S&R Nursing Homes Limited.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional leadership and management skills with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in supervisory role.
- Qualifications recognized by the HRPA to be a Human Resources practitioner in good standing in Ontario.
- Demonstrable labour relations experience in a unionized environment
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and management skills.
- Postsecondary education is an asset, preferably at the Master’s level (in Human Resources, Business Management, or Health Care).
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) or equivalent.
- Preference given to those with Long Term Care and /or Healthcare experience
Key Responsibilities include the following and other duties as directed:
Clinical Operations Management:
- Manage the homes daily Human Resources and Labour Relations matters for the clinical team,
including but not limited to: health and safety, collective agreements, union matters, employee relations, attendance management, organizational culture management, progressive discipline, and employee file management.
- Supporting, monitoring & evaluating the sufficiency and effectiveness of the homes Recruitment & Onboarding policies and practices.
- Coaching and supporting managers and their teams through the change management process to support the resiliency and adaptability of the Home.
Human Resources Management
- Responsible for integrity of the team member investigation process
- Providing HR advice to department leaders based on best practices, S&R policies and standards, and legislation
- Overseeing the execution of the attendance management and disability management programs
- Ensure that all new clinical team members receive an orientation in keeping with S&R expectations and policies.
- Ensure that team member staffing patterns and levels are appropriate to meet the needs of the residents, the MOHLTC standards and the current budget.
- Communicate, support, follow and enforce the Code of Conduct and Conflict Resolution process.
Health and Safety
- Ensure your Home’s health and safety program meets or exceeds legislated requirements and the provisions of the applicable collective bargaining agreements.
- Establish health and safety performance objectives and priorities in conjunction with the JHSC

- Work with the corporate team to enhance the reputation and integrity of this Home and S&R Nursing Homes.
