Position Overview
As our Manager, Regulatory Reporting, you will put your skills to work to provide regulatory strategy and guidance to advance our growth objective of implementing low carbon transportation (LCT) solutions to meet our company goals for a lower-carbon future. You’ll provide support and advice to the team and regulatory affairs group on filing strategies. You’ll also offer analytics support and reporting to other internal and stakeholder holders to communicate and create awareness of the company’s activities in this growth area and how they advance FortisBC’s Clean Growth Pathway.
In this role, you will:
-Lead the write up and support of regulatory filings and hearings; provide editorial responsibility for regulatory applications, submissions, compliance filings, information requests, evidence and arguments related to the advancement of low carbon transportation solutions within the LCT and liquefied natural gas (LNG) Business Growth team.
-Lead staff in the preparation of regulatory applications, reporting requirements for both internal and external stakeholders and overall management of contractual administration with customers to deliver value to our customers and enable sustainable growth.
-Lead studies and research with consultants and external stakeholders to support objectives.
-Support compliance with provincial and federal low carbon and clean fuel regulations, including reporting and transacting in carbon credit markets.
-Lead the development of new rate design for LCT customers and applications to support investments in new low carbon fueling stations
-Support the development of the Company’s zero emission vehicle (ZEV) programs to kickstart the market for battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell Medium and Heavy Duty vehicles in British Columbia.
-Lead the financial and load forecasting function of the LCT team.
-Set up processes internally to support our external customers and internal sales team in rates and billing.
-Lead the process and the development of applications to support compliance filing requirements.
-Develop and support the sales staff in Requests for Proposals and other federal funding requirements to seek new growth opportunities.
-Lead research and studies on numerous fronts.
What it takes:
-A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Commerce, Economics or Engineering from a recognized program and a minimum of five years of related experience.
-Ability to think strategically and proactively.
-Strong knowledge of regulatory legislation and requirements, processes, principles and constructs.
-Strong relationship builder with an ability to work well with others.
-Project management skills.
-Strong skills in the use of business analysis, financial evaluation methods, and project management.
-Strong written, oral and presentation skills.
-Knowledge of utility regulatory principles and energy markets.
-Demonstrated ability to be proficient or expert in the use of software used within the department (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and VISIO, and Sharepoint).
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
