The salary range for this position is:
Recruitment range: $84,500- $93,175 starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.
Performance range: starting salary to max of $109,919 is available through annual performance increases.
*This position is eligible for a Hybrid Work Arrangement*
Job Summary
Mandate:
The Manager, Research Accounting plays a vital role in the Research Accounting department by ensuring that the administration requirements for sponsored research grants are completed including financial reporting, invoicing, and funding agency audit reviews. This includes managing the administrative process, supervising staff, and coordinating with faculty and granting agencies as needed.
Objectives:
- Manages the financial reporting team to ensure that the financial reports are accurate and that external deadlines have been met - includes recruiting, performance development, coaching, and workload management.
- Responds to staff, faculty, other departments, and institutions regarding Financial Services related enquiries.
- Organizes external and internal audit requests for documentation and information.
- Improve current processes and optimize procedures to ensure the Research Accounting department operates smoothly and effectively.
This position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to an accounting designation (CPA, CGA) plus five years of directly related experience in a supervisory capacity in a medium/large sized Canadian University. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
