What is the opportunity?

You will provide in-depth support and project management in Request for Proposal (RFP) responses and compensation agreement renewals for clients in the Public Sector and Indigenous markets. You will partner with Commercial Financial Services (CFS) staff and other colleagues across RBC to drive client loyalty and build long-term profitable client relationships. You will work in collaboration with all business partners to deliver an exceptional client experience and bring all of RBC to our clients.
What will you do?

  • As part of the CFS Relationship Team, work with colleagues to execute a coordinated RFP response.
  • Contribute to individual and unit sales objectives by providing support to CFS RMs in Public Sector& Indigenous markets with appropriate solutions in proposals, RFP's, and compensation agreement renewals with a continued focus on relationship building, revenue generation, and client loyalty.
  • Provide guidance by championing consistency and accuracy in proposals, RFPs, compensation agreement renewals and client communications as it relates to revenue generation, cost effectiveness, operational/administrative effectiveness and compliance
  • Help the client with new or emerging issues that will impact their business by providing the client with unique, valuable insights on the client's industry, business or market.
  • Subscribe to a professional service standard for responding to clients and colleagues, returning voice mail and email and use business etiquette in your communications, including outbound voicemail message, and electronic correspondence.
  • Proficient utilization of proposal generation tools and leveraging of subject matter experts to ensure compliance and accuracy in responses.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with service partners to optimize service levels and operational opportunities

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Great collaboration skills
  • 2+ years of business and commercial banking experience in a financial services environment including knowledge of investment and current account operations, analyzing and presenting deals (Cash Management experience preferred).
  • Solid understanding of financial products & services (including web-based product delivery channels).
  • The incumbent will be working remotely from the reporting officer and so a strong entrepreneurial spirit is a prerequisite.
  • Strong client focus and the ability to incorporate sales disciplines into day-to-day activities.
  • Excellent written communication skills; notably the ability to illustrate with words the impact of the recommended solutions on the client's business operation(s) relationships.
  • Willingness to learn new skills while building partnerships with stakeholders and fostering teamwork.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and adapt to a fast-paced environment as this is a role requiring above average organizational skills and a proven capacity for coping with multiple competing priorities.
  • Above average knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Qvidian proposal generation tool.
