Summary
We are currently recruiting for a leadership position in Kitimat, British Columbia. Reporting to the Manager – Valve and Actuation Service, the Manager, Valve Service will directly lead the Valve and Actuation Service Advisor, Material and Logistics and Technician teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall effectiveness of the team by:
- Promoting a culture focused on creating exceptional customer experience
- Engaged Leadership with direct reports and other Managers across Spartan Controls.
- Service fulfillment process optimization
- Lead by example. When needed, working directly on the floor with the technicians or in the field with customers.
Role and Responsibilities
Exceptional Customer Experience
- Continually find ways to understand the value the customer wants – Customer Journey Mapping, Site Visits
- Engage with Sales and other Valve and Actuation operations Leaders to establish Customer-centric strategies and value specific segment needs
- Find ways to say “yes” - to differentiate Spartan
- Monitor and distribute workload across the Service Advisor and coordinator teams
Engaged Leadership
- Develop plans to identify and anticipate resource needs
- Demonstrate a continual commitment to lead by example. Including hands-on in the shop.
- Collaborate to build peer support and strong internal company relationships with other key Spartan Managers across Spartan
- Consistent connection and communication across the Regional Service teams
- Performance development discussion opportunities, mentoring and training
- Empower Spartans to be part of the solution
- Effective change management leadership
Order Fulfillment Process Optimization
- Support Spartan growth initiatives
- Collaborate with other Spartan Service Centers to meet customer deliverables
- Look for ways to improve processes and increase efficiency, balanced with customer experience
- Leverage best practices across all of Spartan through Sales Ops connection
- Support consistent implementation of company initiatives such as Path; understand and communicate Spartan and V&A business strategy
- Identify and keep current with key policies and economic, political, and social trends that affect the organization
Community Ambassador
- Develop strong relationships with local vendors, customers, and the local Indigenous peoples
- Attend local career fairs and community events
- Promote Spartan within the community
Qualifications and Skills
- Post secondary education preferred, Instrumentation or Electrical Journeyperson
- 5+ years of order fulfillment experience
- Strong ‘Customer First’ focus
- Excellent interpersonal skills; strong team player
- Understand and support the need for change and provide direction during the change process
- Demonstrate behaviors that are consistent with our Spartan culture and team objectives
- Motivate others through a positive and encouraging attitude, advocating for and helping the team
- Ability to clarify and explain roles and objectives to individuals and to the team
