What is the opportunity?
In this role you will be responsible for the strategy and performance of RBC Investment Management through local and regional business development and for the attainment of financial and non-financial objectives in accordance with the strategic and business plans. You will be accountable for the creation and execution of business strategy to increase current Assets Under Management (AUM) and to further enhance revenue contribution and profitability to the RBC Financial Group. You will also focus on meeting both short and long term objectives aligned to RBC Caribbean Banking strategic priorities and plans and drive a high level of performance, employee engagement, a superior client experience and sustainable value creation for RBC shareholders.
What will you do?
- Be accountable for developing and executing a successful business strategy for RBC Investment Management
- Develop the annual Business Plans for the business unit within the appropriate risk framework
- Implements robust internal controls and compliance infrastructure to enable sustainable business outcomes, mitigating operational risk for the business
- Review and recommend an appropriate organization structure of RBC Investment Management to ensure proper job function / reporting in furtherance of strategic plan
- Responsible for maintaining dominance in market position / share of Investment Management services locally
- Responsible for regular communications with our clients and relationship management of broker/dealers in the securities industry with whom we do business
- Foster collaboration as a one RBC Market leader, partnering with key business partners inclusive of RBC Trust to bring the best of RBC to our clients
- Accountable for delivering profitable growth for RBC Investment Management; establishes and meets business growth plan and sales targets of our AUM
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have:
- University Degree, CFA Charter holder or equivalent experience
- At least 5- 7 years’ experience in a leadership position in the Financial Services Industry
- In depth knowledge of investment fund management
- Proven experience in the Investment Management business
- People Management expertise across large, multi-layered, multi-generational, geographically dispersed teams
- High degree of collaboration through partnering with various functional/business units and stakeholders
