March Break Program Leader

Position Title:March Break Program Leader (Up to 2 positions)
Employment Dates: March 11-15, 2024

Training Dates: week of March 4th,2024

Hourly Rate: $18.16

Hours: up to 35 hours per week, extended hours as required

POSITION SUMMARY:

The March Break Program Leader position is an integral role for Loyalist Township.
March Break Program Leaders are responsible for assisting with implementing and supervising a safe and well-balanced program. Under the supervision of the Recreation
Programmer and the Recreation Program Coordinator, leaders will execute activities, lessons, and games. The leader team is responsible for the day-to-day activities and safety of participants. This is a great opportunity for students seeking a career in concurrent education, childhood education, or recreation.

Job Description:

• Assisting with implementation, and supervision of a safe and well-balanced program
• Coordinate lesson plans and activities
• Leading and supporting participants as they participate in age-appropriate activities
• Cleaning, maintaining and ensuring proper use of recreation facilities and equipment
• Administrative tasks such as attendance and incident/accident forms
• Participating in staff training including emergency procedures and training
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, SKILLS, TRAINING:

• Previous experience working with children in a camp/classroom setting
• Courses (High School or Post-Secondary) in Concurrent Education, EarlyChildhood Education, Leadership or Recreation, considered an asset

• Strong leadership skills
• Good knowledge of sports, games, crafts and music
• A valid class “G” driver’s license is an asset
• Satisfactory driver’s record
• Satisfactory CPIC (Criminal Record Check) including Vulnerable Sector, will be required by the successful candidate at their own expense
• Standard first aid with CPR-C, considered an asset
• High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development certification, considered an asset
