We are looking for a Market Director for our Calgary Business Banking Centre (University District) to lead a team of 6 Business Banking professionals and support.

• Preference will be given to individuals with proven experience and a working knowledge of Business Banking development in the "professional services" sector. Compensation will be commensurate with relevant experience, skills, and education.

Located at University District and reporting to the Regional Manager in Calgary, this role will predominantly be building business in the field of Professional Services in the greater Calgary market. You will implement a proactive approach to business development by cultivating a strong working relationship with your team, the branch network and local business owners. As a Market Director, you will strive to develop a high performance team to support the Calgary growth strategy and ensure high quality member experience.

More specifically, the scope of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Leadership of a group of Business Banking professionals in the small to mid-size Professional Services segment with a strong focus on new member acquisition including loans, deposits, and ancillary services.
• In addition to leadership, you will manage a focused portfolio of key relationships.

• Develop and maintain an effective business development plan with the goal to acquire new full service commercial business in the Professional Services sector and truly help companies to succeed by providing all relevant products and services with the support of specialists, like Business Solutions, Servus Wealth Strategies, and other Partners.

• Maintain a high profile and professional image.

• Guide and develop your team on customized solutions including structure, negotiations and submission of credit applications to ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
• As the Market Director, you will be accorded senior lender adjudication limits to support your team.

Requirements

• Seven to ten years of demonstrated ability in all facets of commercial relationship management
• Essential knowledge and skills include demonstrated business development skills, analytical abilities and a sound knowledge of portfolio management acquired through the administration of a business portfolio.
• Experience working and developing relationships with members, potential members, influential community people and staff is required.
• Experience effectively leading a team.

Education and Other Requirements:

• University degree in a business discipline
• Relevant Business or Professional Banking Experience with a Canadian Financial Institution
• Sufficient experience in lieu of education will be considered
