Material Handler

Adecco is currently seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our clients team in Sydney, NS. This is a Temporary role offering a competitive salary of $18 per hour. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials within the warehouse, following health and safety protocols, and contributing to the efficiency of operations.

• Pay rate: $18/hour.

• Location: Sydney, NS

• Shifts: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

• Job type: Temporary to permanent potential | Full-time

Responsibilities:

• Follow all Health and Safety rules and legislation.

• Load and unload trucks efficiently.

• Receive materials, verify packing slips, and enter information into the computer system.

• Identify and store special order and damaged materials appropriately.

• Pick, pack, and ship materials for customer orders, ensuring accuracy.

• Complete documentation for shipments, including Transportation of Dangerous Goods when required.

• Report inventory discrepancies and damaged materials to the Supervisor.

• Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety standards.

• Assist teammates in serving customers at the counter.

• Inform Supervisor/Manager of any safety issues within the warehouse.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Profit Centre Manager.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; College/University degree an asset.

• Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience.

• Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.

• Comprehensive product knowledge.

• High attention to detail in order processing.

• Ability to learn and operate applicable software systems.

• Intermediate math skills.

• Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
