Scope
The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for performing a variety of hands-on mechanical product assembly operations on product components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies. This position requires the Mechanical Assemblers to cross-train and rotate work assignments based on the production schedule.
Responsibilities
- Completes Fuel Cell Stack Assemblies and components in accordance with the company’s work instructions and standard procedures.
- Manually sort and place components.
- Control and monitor robotic work cell.
- Use hoist system when handling heavy loads.
- Use hand, power, and machine shop tools to complete task.
- Operate spot welding equipment.
- Operate fluid dispensing equipment.
- Operate vacuum braze furnace.
- Operate sand blasting equipment.
- Inspect products in detail; conduct final checks and perform adjustments to meet specifications.
- Working safely with solvents, including but not limited to, ethanol, acetone, and isopropyl alcohol.
- Tracking of material, parts, and assemblies; documentation of production records.
- Cross train in related Fuel Cell Stack Assembly processes.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety.
- Other duties as required
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 1-year experience in a manufacturing role.
- Experience reading and interpreting drawings/ blueprints would be considered an asset
- Comfortable completing TIG weld, or willing to learn and perform the occasional TIG welding
- Experience working with hand and power tools, such as wrenches, hammer, file, drill, drill press, grinder, bolt cutters etc.
- Able to identify components from visual and dimensional measurements.
- Must be willing to crossed trained as required
- Basic knowledge of measuring in both metric and imperial.
